Why would you like to become a staff member?:
There are multiple reasons as to why I’d like to become staff on SagePvP. Firstly, I’d like to become staff to help grow and mature the network. I come mainly from the HCF community and the practice community, so I am very familiar with the players, community, gamemodes, commands, everything a staff member would need to be familiar with and be knowledgeable about. I recently wanted to get back into staffing as I have finished school and I think SagePvP would be a great server to become staff on. Secondly, I love to help people. Being a staff member is a great way to help players, not only assist but teach them. I love helping players whether it's ingame, in teamspeak, discord, or on the forums. An essential part of being a staff member is having the time to spend doing your job. I can guarantee that I will be one of the most active staff members on the SagePvP team, as I have lots of time due to the global pandemic. I am hoping to contribute to helping the cheater problem, toxicity, whatever it is to improve SagePvP. SagePvP has the best reputation out of any practice or HCF server that I know which is a large factor as to why I applied here. Thirdly, I’d like to experience the feeling of helping people again. I remember staffing years ago, and how good it felt at the end of the day to know that I helped someone. It feels amazing to know that I can help anyone just by simply assisting them with a question they have, or by helping them with a problem they’re having. I know that with my experience and skills, I will be able to help SagePvP grow and thrive in the Minecraft community.
There are also many, many reasons you should accept me as a staff member on SagePvP. Firstly, my knowledge of the server and community and skills of being a staff member (and specifically a Practice/HCF staff member) give me a massive advantage over other applicants. I have years of experience in the community, so I know how to act when in public. Staying mature and professional is extremely important, not only for me but as a representative of the server. Secondly, I am a fair and respected individual, and have a positive reputation with the community. Bias staff members are the bane of staff teams. I am and have never been biased towards anyone, no matter who they are in relation to me. Understanding that an individual’s actions (like a Trial-Mod’s decision to curse in public chat) can seriously negatively impact the face of SagePvP’s reputation is something everyone who is a staff member on SagePvP needs to take very seriously. Thirdly, due to my knowledge and experience I am able to handle many different situations properly and carefully. I have managed and owned businesses and teams of people before, so I understand how to act and deal with people very well. I have great communication skills when speaking, which allow me to carefully plan out and execute my words without making mistakes. Lastly, I am very active compared to other applicants per se, which allows me to spend more time improving and maturing SagePvP’s community and server. I am able to be checking teamspeak, server chat, discord, telegram, whatever it is that needs attending.
Going into more detail about my strengths, some of which include:
Screensharing
Screensharing is my favourite part of being a staff member, and it is the part I excel at. It’s like a game of Truth and Consequences with the suspected cheater. If they don't admit, they will suffer the consequences of being banned permanently! It is very fun and enjoyable for me to be able to try and find the one spot in there computer where the cheats are found. It is like a mathematical problem. Subtract this file path, add these strings found in Process Hacker, multiply by Prefetch files and boom! We have found our autoclicker in My Skype Received Files! Disguised so cleverly as a virus scanner yet so obviously conspicuous with leftover Java compiled strings and class libraries! Me, having a mathematical brain is very fun to see it like this. I am also able to read code which gives me a very large advantage over the cheaters. For example, in there mods folder they have six different mods. They all look pretty normal. They are ones like ToggleSprint, TimeChanger, ReachDisplayMod, KeystrokesMod, bspkrcores, and CPSMod. All of them look fine, except for the bspkrscore mod. It is 252 kilobytes when it should be 194. You then know something is up, so you download Luyten to be able to read the direct Java code strings. You go into the class files, and find strings talking about the player’s movement, about an entity’s yaw and pitch, and about a download from an external IP address! What can this all mean, you may ask? It is a ghost client hidden a regular mod, edited to look real. I am very experienced with screensharing people, especially people in the HCF community. I have several written guides on screensharing created by myself. I am also available to teach other staff members if they are unfamiliar with the topic and process of screensharing.
Helpfulness
I feel that in a business each person should bring their own unique way of doing things to the table. Every person is different, and every person is unique. I feel that with my unique personality of being a quiet onlooker would benefit the SagePvP staff team. I also love to be able to answer questions and support anyone on the server when they are in need of assistance, whether it’s a nine year old who just joined Minecraft or it’s an experienced YouTuber who needs their reclaim refunded. It makes me feel good to help other people with their problems. As someone who knows the HCF community pretty well, I have noticed that players will constantly badger staff members for answers to pointless questions. As it will, if this happens I would be a very good person for dealing with these kinds of questions. I never lose my patience and am very considerate of other players, even if they are asking a question that has an obvious answer.
Dedication
If you have a job in the real world, then you know that you have to stay dedicated. The same thing goes for a YouTube channel. People only subscribe to you if you upload consistently and stay dedicated. The same thing also goes for being a staff member. You must be active on the server and be dedicated to helping out the server and the people on it. However, a Minecraft server should not be your number one priority in life. Anything that involves educational purposes should be #1, such as school. As my dad always says, “Work hard, play hard”. Do your homework, work hard, then play Minecraft, play hard. By submitting this application I am saying: “I am ready to commit to what this server needs and will do my best to dedicate my skills and abilities as much as possible to the server”.
Maturity
I would consider myself mature for my age because of two things: my everyday environment, and my personality type. My everyday environment at school is very different from all my classmates, I tend to stay inside and would rather do homework rather than play outside. My classmates are noisy, obnoxious, and rambunctious while I am quiet and sober. I don’t like being social around other people that much which attributes to my personality. I am definitely what you would call an introvert. I would way rather sit inside my house and read a book than go to a bowling match with my friends. Given these attributes I would consider myself more mature than most people my age. I love to study science and mathematics to expand my knowledge as a person.
Honesty/Trustworthy
When it comes to being staff on any server I try to make myself as open and as trustworthy as possible. I will always treat every player the same whether they’re my friend, co-worker, or even brother because I am not biased and no staff member should ever be. I would like to think of myself as a trustworthy person in general so it will be easy as a staff member. Furthermore, having biased staff members leads to a corrupt staff team and I want the opposite for SagePvP. SagePvP needs staff who are prepared and are active enough to take on what you will come to face as a staff member.
Communication
This trait, along with professionalism, is very important when becoming a staff member on a server. Having the ability to properly communicate with other players ranging from many different ages and backgrounds opens up a whole new world on how to handle situations. I believe I have good communication skills because I am able to calm situations down and not lose my temper. I can state my claim or my argument very clear while maintaining a very calm and collected voice. I also send updates and messages when things are happening to make sure everyone is aware. For example, if I had a question about something on the server, I would communicate with the other members. Another example would be if I punished a player, I would let the staff know following it with a piece of evidence or proof.
Professionalism
I feel that professionalism is the most important quality that a staff member should possess. As a staff member that has been hired/brought on by an Owner or a Manager for the server, you are a representation of the server as a whole. If I am going to be a staff member on SagePvP, then I need to have a complete understanding of what it means and takes to be professional.
Knowledge
I have been a part of the Minecraft community for about 3-4 years now and I have come to fully understand the gamemode, the expectations, and the requirements to be a staff member. This is what makes me different from other applicants, I know exactly what every command is and it does. I also understand how the players think and am able to make relevant, constructive decisions based on each and every situation.
If accepted, how would you improve the players' experience?:
This question is insinuating that the players' experience needs to be improved. The logical way to solve this would be to determine the problem, determine the cause of the problem, and then determine a helpful solution.
The problem is the players' experience isn't as good as it could be.
The cause of that problem could be many different things, such as staff negligence, bugs, toxicity between players, which would each warrant different solutions respectively.
The solution would differentiate based on what the cause of the problem is. I would do everything in my power I could to fix the problem and warrant a solution to therefore prevent that issue from happening in the future.
